The Spruce Clamp is our solution to a common workspace conundrum - items/tools that are commonly used need to be within reach, without cluttering your desk or table.

Aside from being a useful organization tool, the Clamp adds character to your space and is simply nice to have around.

U.S.A. grown Poplar used for the main base, 'trunk' & 'branches', and Maple used for the screw.

NO METAL - 100% WOOD.

We thread each Maple screw in our woodshop, one at a time.

Maximum clamping thickness is 1.5" - if you need to use the Clamp on a thicker table, please contact us before ordering.

*We named each version of the Clamp after a different species of tree, but each one is made out of Poplar & Maple.

we are not a "brand".

Instead, we consider ourselves to be a ‘collaborative studio’. We're not trying to sell any sort of idealized lifestyle. Rather, we prefer to let the work speak for itself. Our goal remains simple: To create the best things that we possibly can. Combined, the two of us have experience beyond our years and ambitions stretching quite far into the future. It is important to us that any 'thing' that we create be of the highest quality and made to last.

We don’t hire PR people, or managers or accounts people. It is just the two of us - doing every single aspect that is required. Right down to designing this very website. Fancy photos and words are not our thing. To us, “Made in the USA” means contributing to the domestic economy and partaking in meaningful work.

Both Leah and Patrick design and (currently) make every single 'LXL' branded product. You should think of LAYERXLAYER products as “Crafted in the USA” rather than “Manufactured in the USA.”
